President
Chelsie Miller
My name is Chelsie Miller and I aspire to hold the position of President. I am 27 years old, married, and have three animals I love dearly. I could say I lived an entire life prior to transferring to SDSU; I tried my hand at undergraduate school directly following high school and ended up serving 6 years in the military instead. Beyond that, I have been teaching yoga alongside my studies for over 2 years now. During my time in the military, I gained professional experience in leadership and developed a strong work ethic. My experience as a yoga instructor has taught me patience and the meaning of true connection.
I am sincerely enjoying my time here at SDSU and in SNO and cannot imagine what this club would be like if it were not for those who preceded me. With that being said, I will contribute my strong character and willingness to communicate to every meeting I have with our members, faculty, and future guest speakers. I thrive on connecting with others and listening to new ideas that will help improve our experience in this club. As your future President, I hope to continue supporting our members and help foster an inspiring learning environment for everyone. Thank you for considering me for this position. |
Vice President
Jillian Arizcuren
My name is Jillian Arizcuren and I am a third year foods & nutrition student at SDSU. Besides being a member in SNO, I currently work as a diet clerk at Scripps Hospital Encinitas and am also a cashier at Tender Greens in Mission Valley. On campus, I have thoroughly enjoyed my involvement with Dance Marathon, being an active member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority, and volunteering at Urban Angels, Heaven’s Windows, and my sorority’s philanthropy, Girls on the Run. From these past experiences, I have gained solid organizational and communication skills which makes me an ideal representative for SNO.
As vice president, I plan on working thoroughly and diligently to relay important information from officer meetings and CHHS meetings back to our members in an efficient manner. Because of my involvement in ASB throughout my high school years, I have extensive experience in planning events and creating task lists. I would use this skill set to plan an organized and informative mixer for the mentor/mentee program. I take all my responsibilities seriously and put 110% effort into everything I take on, and having this position would be no exception. I am willing to go above and beyond in assisting the president, Gala coordinator, and any SNO officer or member with any task they may need help with. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. My email is jillian@fswest.com. Thank you! |
Treasurer
Apryl Stepp
Hi Everyone!
My name is Apryl Stepp, and I'm running to be your next SNO Treasurer. I am a third-year Foods & Nutrition transfer student aiming to enhance my leadership skills while furthering my nutrition community involvement. Currently, I work two jobs as a dietary aide at a skilled nursing facility and a numismatic sales consultant. I have volunteered with Feeding San Diego, Mama's Kitchen, The Fund for Animals Wildlife Center, and as a Big Sister for Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego. When I'm not working or volunteering, I enjoy taking care of my indoor plant jungle, loving my senior cats, and traveling. Before attending SDSU, I worked for a numismatic retailer where my duties included sales, invoicing, shipping, and daily banking transactions. I am a detail-oriented, fiscally responsible, and organized team player. As your future SNO Treasurer, I understand the importance of managing expenses and detailed record keeping. I'm committed to putting in the work and ready for any future challenges. |
Jordan Graham
Hi! My name is Jordan Graham, I am a second year Foods and Nutrition major working towards becoming an RD. I am running for the position of treasurer. I currently work at MAKE pizza and salads as a cashier, and I work for my dad's stair company helping the business log receipts, do payroll, organize expenses and make sure that they stay on budget. I feel that these positions and responsibilities have prepared me for the treasurer position. This position is very important to SNO and I will not take it lightly. It is responsible for the club’s budget, gala prices and overall expenses and, like you, I want to keep costs down while being able to get the most out of the club. I work well in a team and understand the importance of working with other members like the president for the RSO application and the gala coordinator when it comes to setting ticket prices, doing paperwork and paying for the venue etc. I think I would be a great fit for this position because I am responsible, have experience, and pay attention to detail.

Secretary
Sidney Figurido
Hi everyone! My name is Sidney Figurido. I’m a 3rd year student majoring in Foods & Nutrition, and am also in the DPD program. This is my second semester being actively involved with SNO, and I get the lovely honor of being a SNO ambassador where I put the extra effort in to spread the word about the program to others.
Some hobbies I enjoy include being active in any way possible (hiking, walking or running with my dogs, Pilates, etc), cooking/trying new recipes, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Overall, I have a strong passion for anything to do with nutrition and wellness, but I specifically love the holistic approach to health which is why I am now a certified holistic health coach. I work in a functional medicine office where I get to work next to naturopathic doctors and other wellness experts. Other than that, I love to get involved with the community by volunteering for Feeding San Diego. I would love to be an officer cause I truly enjoy working with others. In the end, we all have similar goals and are working extremely hard to achieve those goals, which is a huge reason why I think I could help in that process. With my strong attention to detail and organization, I can help make your experience with SNO a great one. I’m rooting for all of you! Thank you for your consideration. |
Jordan Graham
Hi! My name is Jordan Graham and I am running for the secretary position. I am a second year Foods and Nutrition major and working towards becoming an RD. I am currently the social media coordinator of the SDSU club triathlon team, and I work at MAKE pizza and salads in downtown San Diego. I am also one of the SNO ambassadors and have had the opportunity to talk to freshmen about SNO and becoming a member, which has been one of my favorite parts of being an ambassador so far. I am very organized and plan to bring this to my position as secretary. One of the biggest responsibilities is inputting member points, which is important so those who earn it can become active members. I am also very reliable and can respond to emails in a timely manner including being able to send out weekly club updates. Lastly, I understand the importance of the secretary position and the communication between the board and its members and feel that I would be a great fit for this position.

Samantha Camacho
Hello! My name is Samantha Camacho and I would love to become the secretary for SNO because I really like to keep track of everything I do and I am very organized with school and my personal life. This position is important to this organization because it requires dedication to keep on track of every single member throughout the semesters. First, the secretary needs to add the members names as they register, respond to their emails, input members’ points on a spreadsheet, record attendance during meetings along with writing down the meeting minutes just like the officer meetings, and creating active member letters at the end of each semester. 4 hours is the average time per week that this position takes to be able to complete all the tasks which I am willing to do. I am in my third year as a Foods and Nutrition major and I am very passionate about the science behind food. I also love to help with the distribution of food for people who need it, that is why I volunteer every week at Salvation Army in Chula Vista. Furthermore, I like to cook and prepare food variations and working at Sharp in the food service area has helped me grow as a person and learn to prepare each plate for all the patients in the hospital. I would make a good fit for the role because I am responsible in terms of time management. I also would like to get to know all the members of this organization and be able to participate into the experience that SNO offers to them. I will carry myself in this role by spreading all the tasks equally throughout the week so I can be able to really focus and be involved everyday with this organization.

Professional Outreach Liaison
Monica Wilson
Hi everyone! My name is Monica! I am currently a junior here at SDSU and I am a Food Science Nutrition major. I have always had a passion for food and health ever since high school and I am really enjoying the courses here at state! I love the beach, hiking, helping ship books and school supplies to the Philippines with my mom, and dancing! I am running for Professional Outreach Liaison. This position would be an excellent way to not only get involved with SNO but to also strengthen my communication skills. I find that communication and building interpersonal relationships with people is the best way to gain experience and to learn. For this role, organization is key, and I do this by writing everything down and setting a schedule. I understand that this position involves a lot of confidence and organization to recruit speakers for the club. I plan to reach out and find diverse, relatable, and helpful individuals that will help guide everyone in finding career opportunities beyond undergrad. I would aim to not only find individuals that are already in their professional field of nutrition, but also those who are working through their internships in their master’s program for DPD. This semester I have found that to be extremely helpful because I think a lot of us nutrition majors worry about the DPD process since it is nerve-racking. More than anything I want to help fellow members in the club continue their passion in nutrition and dietetics by finding applicable information that will help them in the future. Thank you all for your consideration!

On campus, I have thoroughly enjoyed my involvement with Dance Marathon, being an active member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority, and volunteering at Urban Angels, Heaven’s Windows, and my sorority’s philanthropy, Girls on the Run. These past experiences have allowed me to grow exponentially in my networking and communication skills, which is why I am running for the Professional Outreach Liaison position.
I believe that it is important for our members to be introduced to a diverse group of professionals in our field. This would not only allow our members to grow, but will also expose our members to an abundance of opportunities our field has to offer. I know for me personally, the guest speaker presentations were really helpful in learning about different career paths and specializations in nutrition. Each speaker was so knowledgeable and provided their own unique advice. I would love to provide our members with such a valuable resource that helped me tremendously in narrowing down my focus and giving me tools to succeed in college and beyond. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. My email is jillian@fswest.com. Thank you! |
Public Relations Manager
Monica Wilson
Hello everyone! My name is Monica! I am currently a junior majoring in Food Science Nutrition. I have always had a passion for food and health ever since high school and I am really enjoying the courses here at state! I love the beach, hiking, helping ship books and school supplies to the Philippines with my mom, and dancing! I am running for Public Relations Manager. This position would be a great opportunity to get more hands on experience with not only SNO but also with getting more creative! I have some useful experience in editing photos and pictures due to my past art classes and outside of school passion for photography. I am also very work oriented and find that staying organized is key to a successful outcome. I love interacting, even though COVID has made that aspect a bit more difficult, and I really value others' input. Having a fun and creative look for the club helps spread the word out for future SNO members and gets everyone more informed about the great opportunities out there. Nutrition is a fast growing field of interest and while it is competitive, I think the most important thing is to spread accurate and science based information. I plan to express our club through diverse and innovative opportunities on social media and the public. This club has helped me figure out my potential plans for the future with Nutrition and I hope to help others find this club to do the same. Thank you all for your consideration!

Janeza Bridges
Hi there! My name is Janeza Bridges. I am a Foods and Nutrition major with a love for weightlifting and anything fitness! I am running for the Public Relations Manager position of SNO. After first joining a health/nutrition club at my former college (Miramar College Human Movement Club) where I first started out as a member and eventually became club president, I have found a love for being involved in campus clubs and building connections with members, officers, and faculty. As club president, I handled many of the responsibilities that the public relations manager requires such as social media managing, flyer and t-shirt designing, while also helping raise awareness of future events, so I am familiar with the process and how much time and dedication is required. Besides being active in a club setting, I have also partnered with fitness companies such as BPI Sports, Spartan Race, Lululemon, and local businesses around town in order to help with content creation and brand awareness. Currently, I am a part of the Vital Proteins Performance team, where social media, communication, teamwork, and time management skills are a necessity. If elected for this position, I plan to aid current and future students in feeling a sense of community within SNO, whether that be virtual or in-person, while also spreading my passion for health and fitness.

Gala Coordinator
Kate Cardle
Hi, my name is Kate Cardle and I am running for Gala Coordinator for the 2021-2022 school year. I am an inducted member of SNO and a Food & Nutrition major! I am currently a junior, and I am expecting to graduate Spring 2022. My hobbies include eating, kickboxing, running, walking or hiking with my dog, and sleeping. I would be a great choice for gala coordinator because I am experienced in event planning, extremely organized, comfortable with public speaking, and very reliable.
Planning and leading events is hard work, but I enjoy every second of the process. I was in Girl Scouts for 12 years as a girl, and I have continued to volunteer as an adult by planning large events. Events I have planned, solo and as part of a team, have had 20-100 people in attendance. My duties have included securing a venue, advertising to potential participants, layout of the room, outlining the event to start and end on time, setting up, cleaning up, fielding questions from participants, being MC, and documenting my entire process for anyone who may repeat the event in the future. It takes time to get each detail straightened out, and I am committed to taking the time necessary to have the gala run as smoothly as possible. As a student, I am very organized and I have great time management skills. I live by my planner and calendar. Each day, I plan out manageable goals for myself and I allow ample time during the day to complete them. My work is always submitted on time, and if I need help, I ask. My strategy regarding the gala will be no different. I am looking forward to working with the other officers, specifically the treasurer, PR manager, and social coordinator, to put on the 8th annual SNO gala in Spring 2022. I humbly ask for your vote for gala coordinator for the 2021-2022 school year. Thank you for your consideration! |
